Big news & a fond farewell.

Recently I’ve found myself doing quite a bit of soul-searching. When you’re an academic nerd, your life is pretty planned out for you: K-12 you earn top grades, go to college and lose hair and sleep over your thesis, graduate and get a great job. I’ve done each of these steps! But no one seems to tell you what comes next. The big void where you realize the rest of my life isn’t laid out for me, and that’s actually a good thing. So I’ve recently decided that I owe it to myself to take a step back and really assess what my goals are, where I want to go and who I want to be.

After two years working with a team of the most talented, passionate women I know, I am leaving Scene.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision, and one that I’m thankful to say has been equally informed by the support and generous love given to me by the ladies at Scene. I am humbled by their guidance and support, and grateful to know I’ll always have them on my side. They are truly talented and incredibly intelligent women who have challenged me to grow, encouraged me to learn, and championed my causes along the way– and for that I’ll always be in their debt.

So what’s next? That’s the beauty of it, I don’t need to definitively know. I will work freelance a bit as a graphic designer, exercising my creative muscles with the odd project here and there, and really put some time in evaluating my career and direction. I hope to use this blog as a way to document my experiences, and welcome your feedback and advice along the way.

Thank you for reading!
