Manic Monday

Hello.

I’m back. From an unintentional blogging hiatus. After my 30 day blogging challenge, I had every intention of keeping up my pace to some extent- and then I got sick. Then I got busy. Then the weather was nice…..but now I’m back! And I’ve missed this.

I have a bunch of exciting projects in the works, both in the blog, in my personal life, and in graphic design- so I’m pretty stoked about this week, and hoping to keep just caffeinated enough to get everything done, but not so caffeinated that I develop a hearth arrhythmia of some kind.

“Busyness is a Cruel Mistress” – amen to that! The seduction of being busy is pretty hard to overcome, even as a freelance designer. I’m trying to get better at setting aside more time to just be.
Ever wonder how SNL gets those amazing, blown-out, high-contrast celeb pics? Pugly Pixel offers some of my favorite tutorials, and that I’m dying to try out this one!
With a couple of branding projects coming down the pipeline, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be a “brand”, and the concept of identity in a world like this. This article from Nubby Twiglet and this one from PromiseTangeman were helpful from a branding/marketing/designer point of view.
Tonight I’m making this amazing gooeyness for a dinner party with some friends who recently moved back and bought a house! (Man, did that sentence just make me feel way too adult. Let’s call it catching up with casual friends.)
