Happy Halloween!

I have to admit, Halloween really snuck up on me this year. I completely missed the big parties last weekend, and never even picked out a costume! Which, as a lover of dressing up, is especially surprising. That’s why I’m excited to head to my favorite bar trivia out in Sellwood tonight and catch up with friends, wear goofy costumes (whether or not the rest of the bar will be!) and drink some pumpkin beer.

Because I was a big party pooper this year, I decided to repost some of my favorite costumes from the last couple years. Enjoy!

Washi Tape makes everything better…

In the midst of all the Painting Craziness, I started going nuts trying to keep all my to-do’s in my head. I’m a pretty big list maker, and I kept finding myself losing important lists or wanting to jot something down when I was away from the office.

So I took 5 minutes to make this beauty! It’s now the pocket-size to-do list booklet I carry with me everywhere, and with my little washi tape upgrade it puts me in a good mood whenever I whip it out.

Supplies: moleskin mini book, unlined. washi tape. x-acto knife.

Time spent: 5 minutes.

I’m Back! A very special Manic Monday…

Hello!! I’m back! I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed blogging these last two weeks- it’s funny how you don’t realize how much you’ve come to rely on something until it’s no longer there. I’ve missed this little outlet for all my random projects and thoughts!

So speaking of… where was I the last few weeks? Working. My. Butt. Off. I had the amazing opportunity to work with the planners of Portland Cocktail Week in producing a series of custom paintings and chalk drawings for the big event. If you didn’t know that I paint sometimes for work, well I didn’t really either until this! It was an amazing and incredibly challenging project, including covering 36 square yards of canvas, individually researching 36 cities for local landmarks, and hours and hours of painting/paint fume inhaling- all in the space of about a week and a half. I’m so happy with how everything turned out, and even happier to have this project completed and considered a success!

In addition, did I mention I’m moving?? This week. Into a beautiful house with sooo much space for decorating, fooding, creating, painting, planting, reading…it’s going to be amazing.

Gotta keep life interesting, right?

Manic Monday

Today is going to be the start of a little blogging hiatus while I take on a few large projects. I’ll be back in two weeks!

In the meantime, here are some links to look over:

That’s it! I’ll be back soon.

Who’ll stop the rain….

Yep, that’s a CCR reference. I might have been in a banjo mindset all week.

In case you haven’t been anywhere near social media (or don’t live in Portland), it’s raining in this city. And while that’s not normally any big news, it hasn’t rained here in over 100 days. So as you can imagine, we’re all pretty excited.

Welcome back, old friend. It’s rain jacket, tights and boots season again! On a side note, I’ve recently started wearing tights and shorts on days when I’m just hanging around the house- I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I’m pretty sure it takes me a little closer to being a hipster. Meh.
