I had a feeling today was going to be one of those very bad days. When my alarm went off, I hit snooze before I realized it wasn’t my wake-up-in-the-next-20-minutes alarm, but rather my you’d-better-be-running-for-the-bus-if-you-don’t-want-to-be-late alarm. So I was 20 minutes late to work, skipped my morning coffee, didn’t have time for a shower and barely had the brain space to match my shoes.
But then, a wonderful thing happened! There was coffee at work, and leftover bagels from a meeting. Some sweet lady on the bus complimented my hair (thank you, sock bun!). My guy sent me a sweet text. And the sun came out- literally and figuratively.
Just goes to show that you can always find a way to turn your day around. And sometimes the universe will conspire to do this on its own.
Hey there! We’re back from the race and we all did really well! It was a fun trip and I’m so proud of my friends and family for pulling together to Pole, Pedal and Paddle.
My last week in pictures:
Which Kayak is ours?
Run, Charlie! Run!
Took this picture halfway through the 5mi run!
Hey, good lookin’!
And here are some lovely links to get you through the week!
So this weekend, my family and I are doing the Pole Pedal Paddle in Bend! What is this, you ask? Only an epic 6-leg relay from Mt. Bachelor to the heart of Bend! The race goes as follows:
Downhill Skiing – Jackson
Cross Country Skiing- Allyn
Kayak- Jesse800 M Sprint to the finish line- Charlie
And of course, the road crew- Mom, Dad and Ashley
Well, wish us luck and have a wonderful weekend yourself.
Oy, with the Poodles Already
Well, this website was a delightful distraction from my day! Deep into a Gilmore Girls stint lately.
Sometimes I step back from my work and am overcome with the realization that 6 year old Erin would have loved what I do today.
Yesterday was one of those days. Drawing pretty things on chalk boards is a pretty amazing gig.
And now, just like 6 year old Erin, I need a nap and a juice.
