So Yesterday, I Got Engaged.

Oh man.

So, I’m engaged! And that means I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, the guy I’ve dated for a decade and who is so amazing I seriously doubt I am deserving of him. I couldn’t be more thrilled.

Seriously, constant butterflies.

One of the most amazing parts about all this happening (other than the guy I get to marry!) is realizing how many of our friends and family were over-the-top excited for us. Several of you squealed, a number of you cursed, and we are just blown away by how much you all seem to like us.

Because so many of you asked, here are some of the details:

  • He proposed yesterday, September 9th, on his birthday.
  • We were at our house, which was so perfect- what better place for something so momentous than the home we share??
  • He was nervous. I was crying. We were basically a mess.
  • We immediately went out for a birthday dinner to celebrate, and I remarkably didn’t crash the car in my excitement.
Here we are a little after dinner. Feeling pretty giddy.

And because so many of you asked, here's my ring! I have to get it resized, but it's his paternal grandma's ring, and so unusual and lovely.

Our first toast! Thanks to Shelley and Adam for bringing home the bubbly. :)

I can’t tell you all how excited I am about this, and how much all your calls and comments have meant to me. I’m feeling like a big goofy loveball this week, and I want to let everyone know just how much I love them.

Have a wonderful week, my friends!

  1. Ditto that…thanks for the pic of the ring (it’s so pretty) and the toast. I don’t know your guy well, but he does seem like a prince of a guy. But he’s very lucky too has !! He won the love of someone who is a wonderful woman; someone I think the world of and who is like a second daughter to me! You’ve always been an angel in our lives! I wish you happiness always!
