The Challenge
Carol Grimes, a practiced yoga instructor in Portland, Oregon, was looking to start her own online studio. The practice she envisioned would be accessible, welcoming, and embody her approach to wellness as a desire to connect and find peace and wisdom from within.
For the brand, Carol was looking to build a brand identity that was natural, gentle, feminine, and clean.
The Solution
After initial discovery sessions with Carol, we landed on a direction that borrowed heavily from botanical illustrations of medicinal plants and flowers.
The interplay of nature and medicine, as well as the roots (ha!) in feminine arts brought together many of the elements Carol was looking to play up in her branding, and the feeling she was hoping to evoke in her practice.

The illustrations used throughout Carol’s site and promotional materials are stylized versions of botanical drawings from the Biodiversity Heritage Library open-access digital archive.
The logo and brand palette complement the floral imagery and are flexible for different use cases.
The email and social media templates were designed to be flexible and easy-to-manipulate, accessible to non-designers with a focus on simple, clean layouts.
